Dear colleagues and friends,
It is an honor and pleasure for me and the organizing committee to welcome and invite you to The Third East-European Radon Symposium (TEERAS 2017) which will be held from May 15-19, 2017, in the city of Sofia, Bulgaria.
The very fundamental task in the radon field: to safeguard human life from radon in dwellings and working places needs common efforts in research, industry and legislation. You can expect a diversity of topics covering impressive number of relevant research areas in radon and thoron measurements, methodology and instrumentation, environmental and earth science. Special emphasis will be made on advancing radon mitigation and prevention. Valuable oral and poster presentations shall promote to internationalize top level research and practice, focusing attention on the recent outstanding achievements in the field and future trends and needs. It is our ambition to provide exceptional and creative atmosphere for discussion and networking and excellent social programme.
Sofia is the perfect location to host TEERAS 2017. Alongside the stimulating and innovative science programme which is set to be delievered in the symposium, the vibrant atmosphere of this historic city centre is sure to capture your imagination. Sofia is known as one of the oldest European capitals, as a result has one of the richest architectures and history heritage, which can be traced back to the Neolithic times. Traces of several Neolithic settlements have been found on its territory dating from 5000 BC. Sofia (Serdika – the ancient name of the city and late called Sredets and now Sofia – that means city of the God’s wisdom) is a cultural center since the time of the Thracians, the Roman Empire, The East Roman Empire – Byzantium and the Bulgarian kingdoms.
